This Tournament Goes to Eleven: Results

Postby walter12 » Sat Dec 01, 2007 11:19 pm

9 teams braved some seriously shitty Iowa weather to attend This Tournament Goes to Eleven earlier today.

Records were based on total points, with a team earning a bonus 100 points for each victory in each room (for the opportunity to earn as many as 200 additional points in each of their 10 rounds).

Teams were ranked after a full round robin and then played a single seeded match. Final rankings were as follows:

1) Illinois: 7410 (5910 points + 1500 bonus)
2) Wisconsin: 6849 (5540+1400)

3) Drake: 6575 (5575+1000)
4) Michigan: 4225 (3425+800)

5) St. Olaf/Macalester: 4945 (3945+1000)
6) Truman State: 4305 (3405+900)

7) Michigan State: 3800 (3000+800)
8) Iowa State: 2375 (1975+400)
9) DePauw: 1525 (1325+200)

I'd like to take the time to thank everyone who submitted questions for the event. Serious kudos also go out to Mike Bentley and Ray Anderson for hosting mirrors and serving as my co-editors, as well as to Jack Rousseau and all the other folks at Maryland who helped us finish off the question set over the past week.

I'd like to thank Paul again for his helpful comments on the packets we submitted on ways we could improve the questions. The tournament was smoothly run, and the unfortunate weather-induced absence of Grinnell was dealt with in an amicable fashion. A++++++++ will buy from again.
