Lehigh Valley Academy 10/28/17 [IS-169A]

Post by Antrobus63 »

LVA will host its second annual QB tournament on Saturday, October 28.

Our first tournament went off without a hitch; we look forward to building on that success this year. If you have any questions, please write Peter Schmidt at [email protected].

Lehigh Valley Academy is located at 1560 Valley Center Pkwy, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18017, right off Route 22.

Check-in will take place from 7:30am to 8:20am, with meetings at 8:30 and Round 1 starting at 9 a.m. Each team will be guaranteed at least 8 games. The tournament should wrap up between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

We will be using NAQT Introductory-level set, IS-169A.

The field will be divided into two groups: Experienced and Novice level. Only Experienced teams will be eligible to qualify for HSNCT and PACE. The top 15% of the Experienced field will qualify for HSNCT (High School National Championship Tournament. We are already guaranteed to be a Gold-certified tournament--the top 20% of teams will qualify for the PACE National Scholastic Championship--but we may become a Platinum-certfied tournament, so the top 25% would qualify. Stay tuned!

Registration
We are FULL at 40 teams now.

There is a six-player limit per team. Schools cannot swap members between teams during the tournament.

Peter,

If it were not a conflict with the NJ Northern History Bee & Bowl, St. Joe's would have been delighted to attend. We just wanted you to know this, and we wish you well in your tournament.

Thanks very much, Ed. Yes, the 28th is a loaded date in our area... but there were conflicts in-state on both the 21st and the 28th and I had to choose the lesser of two evils. Hopefully, I will see you and your new team soon.

Our state is getting stronger all the time--a number of teams could have won this tournament. In the end, though, Friends Select A was our champion, prevailing by virtue of its head-to-head win over Henderson A, which finished second. Third place went to Great Valley A, fourth place to Del Val A. The high scorer was Jackie Wu from Downingtown East with 120 PPG.

Many thanks to all the teams, coaches and parents that came out to LVA to play today! Extra special thanks to volunteers Yael Wirtheim, Ryan and Kurt Bilger, Paul Nelson and co-TD Scott Blish!
