Alex Wallace's Timely 21st Century History Packet

Post by SpanishSpy »

Some time back I had posted in the packet announcement thread about an idea I had for a 21st century history packet. That packet, Alex Wallace's Timely 21st Century History packet is now finished. I will post it to the archive once it has been read once. It has twenty tossups and no bonuses, split between American and World questions.

If you are interested in playing the packet, please comment so we can set up something.

So when do you want to do it? We can do it tomorrow or Thursday evenings, or anytime Saturday onward (I'm returning to Williamsburg Friday so that won't work).

Also, how would you care to do so? Skype? IRC chat? I'd prefer something audio-based if that's an option - copy and paste doesn't seem right to me, personally, for Quizbowl.

I can't speak for Austin, but I would prefer Skype over IRC though there are drawbacks to both. I think Wednesday night would work the best for me because we host practice on Thursday nights.

Very well - I will check sometime tonight or tomorrow (I'm on break so I get to stay up and sleep late) and see if we can hammer out something. I too prefer Skype.

I would rather not encumber you so much that you have to read it twice. If more people find Thursday night agreeable, then I will read it when it gets posted to the archive. It's up to you but please don't schedule the event around my schedule.

I'd play this tonight, but I have to read two JAKOB matches at 7 EST. These normally take about half an hour, but I probably will be late.

I also would probably prefer IRC to Skype, but Skype is totally fine if that's the majority consensus.

@Alex would you be willing to write another half-packet or something so the winners of each reading could play each other? I'm kinda curious as to how that would turn out.
