A few updates here - Andrew Leung of the HSNCT Champion Arcadia team and Bruce Lou of the NHBB Champion Saratoga team are both planning on coming - hopefully this may encourage some other top 11th and 12th grade players to sign up. Also, it's likely that students who have finished 10th grade by the Olympiad will play Varsity, so we can have a more even split among the divisions. The final division cutoffs may be birthdate based, though. We're still waiting to see how registrations play out over the next two weeks, and then will make a final call on where the division cutoffs will be by mid-June. As for teams in the Bowl at the Olympiad, I can confirm that teams will consist of 3, not 4 students, in order to help facilitate the draw in the Bowl, as well as the other team events.
Also, unfortunately, we are unable to have "Kno'dgeball" as one of the events at the Olympiad (this was to be a history trivia / dodgeball hybrid) due to liability, trademark, and venue concerns. However, in its place, we will have "Table Combined" a Table Tennis / Quizbowl hybrid tournament. Play 5 points of ping pong, then play 5 questions on two separate tables. Alternate until a student reaches 21 points, win by 2. We've already ordered high performance table tennis paddles for this.
Lastly, I was down at William and Mary last week and they've changed our rooms to a great new setup where all the rooms we need (both competition and sleeping rooms - and no, they're not one and the same) are close to each other, and both are close to the dining hall as well. We're projecting about 100 students for our final total, which is a perfect number to get this off the ground. If you're thinking of joining us, let me know! Remember that everyone who finished in the top half at Nationals either this year or last in either the Bee or the Bowl, or was on a Consolation Champion team, or was a US History Bee playoff finisher at Nationals, or won a regional competition in the Bee or Bowl is eligible to attend (that's a whole lot of you).

The list has been updated with today's 3 registrants, as well as divisions for each student. The splits are quite even across all divisions, in fact.

Registration for the Olympiad has now closed and barring unforeseen drops, this list should be considered finalized. We expect to have 12 Varsity, 16 JV, and 16 Middle School teams that will be formed after the Battery exam on July 9, though those numbers are subject to change.
