Penn Bowl Mirror (Lower Midwest @WUSTL-October 24, 2015)

Post by Jeremy Gibbs Paradox »

Greetings!

I'm Sean Phillips and for the fourth year in a row I am pleased to announce that Washington University in St. Louis will be hosting a mirror of Penn Bowl, this year on October 24, 2015. For information on the packet distribution/intended difficulty level I refer you to this post:

http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =8&t=17381

The fee structure is as follows:

Base fee: $120 per team
Working buzzer discount: $5 each
Approved moderator discount: $15 each
Travel discount: $10 (more than 200 miles one way according to Google maps)

The field is tentatively capped at 12 teams but if enough staff is found then (as we did last year) we will expand as necessary. Details on which building we will use and when on the 24th are TBA. Please email all registrations to [email protected]

Hope to see you all there!

Also game play will be conducted in Eads Hall as in previous years. If we have a sizable amount of teams/participants like last year, we will congregate for registration and awards in January 110, located next to Eads in the southwest corner of the Brookings Quadrangle.

Michigan brings us up to double digits meaning we will be using the auditorium for our morning meeting/awards. I am upping the cap to 18 teams.

Three spots remaining under the current cap. I hope to increase to 20 teams if there is interest, but beyond that I reserve the right to prioritize teams who bring capable staff.

Cap is full. If you'd still like to register I will open a wait list and am exploring how much more I can reasonably expand.

So we have once again expanded the cap to 24 teams. This will be the FINAL expansion! If you would like to get in, I have two spots remaining but you need to email me ASAP! I will be emailing representatives from all the teams later in the week with basic info.

Congratulations to Michigan A for beating U of Chicago A in the second game of an advantaged final! WUSTL was third and Louisville took our fourth place trophy.

Combined stats:

Thanks to all teams for enthusiastically getting through what I know was a long day! I think a lot of us saw the game at its finest and I feel very honored to be anywhere close to it. Great job all teams and my staff as well!
