Bellarmine's coach Chris Fleitas is on - won't give away how he does, but he mentions coaching quiz bowl in his interview.

By the time this was posted, Jeopardy! would have been over where I lived. Does anyone on the West Coast plan on taping it perhaps?

My art history teacher plans to. I'm not sure whether that would be useful for you, though.

SPOILER ALERT: I don't want to say how well he did yesterday, but let's just say that he'll be back today.

You'd think they could find one quizbowler from Illinois who is telegenic enough....
So, does anyone know any of these players?

Krishna Bharathala plays for Mission San Jose in California. I met Elyse Mancuso, and I think Jeff Haylon, too, at the NY try-out. Sukanya Roy, the 2011 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion, was also at the NY try-out; I was actually surprised she didn't make it, especially given Jeopardy's history of inviting former Bee champs (e.g. Anurag Kashyap, Amanda Goad) to the Teen tournament. The East seems quite underrepresented (3 of 15?) and the Midwest rather overrepresented. Oh well.

I met Caleb when Chariton went to Drake's winter tournament in 2011, and they also did National History Bowl. He was a good player, but not great.

Eliza Scruton plays for Manual. I think she was on their B team at our Harvard Fall mirror.

Did anyone see yesterday's match? How many times has a tiebreaker come up? I've never seen one before. My mom said she saw one, at some point. I was also shocked that Benedict Arnold was a triple stumper.

There was one about two years ago, and there was one in the college tournament many years ago when one of the people in the tiebreaker was Craig Barker.

Elyse's school, Elkhorn South, had a JV team that got second seed at :chip: bowl's Chicago site. I can only assume that Elyse was the captain.

Colby is one of the most amusing Jeopardy contestants I've ever seen... Without giving anything away, today's episode was hilarious.
