Some rather brave people from Stony Brook would love to attend, myself included. I'd say about 2 teams' worth at the moment.
EDIT: Actually, it looks like we're not going after all.

We'll definitely have 1 team there and we have funding for two, so we'll do an interest check in a couple weeks to lock that in place.

Someone should pester Fordham into attending this, although one of their players told me they probably wouldn't actually play a tournament until next year because they are a newly formed team. I believe they went to watch a tournament at Columbia once though, so someone from there might have their contact information.

Yale will presumably bring at least one, hopefully more, teams to this. We'll let you know once we figure things out.

Hopefully you got my email, but I thought I should also post on the thread to let you know that NYU would like to bring two teams (and a buzzer) to this tournament.

Thanks!

Stony Brook actually will be coming, contrary to what was posted earlier.

We'll be bringing one team.

It seems that I'm the new TD for this tournament. I'd like to start by crystallizing the field; please tell me if any of my information is incorrect.

FIELD (10):
Cornell (1)
Dartmouth (1)
Harvard (1)
NYU (2)
RPI (1)
Rutgers (1)
Stony Brook (1)
Wellesley (1)
Yale (1)

I have email addresses for Columbia, NYU, and Stony Brook. Could the other schools email me at omurton AT mit DOT edu or post with an address I can use to contact you?

Also, as far as I know, only NYU has expressed an intent to bring a buzzer set. If anyone else has any, please let me know.

Unfortunately, I was mistaken - Yale will bring only one team, as well one staffer and one buzzer set.

Any advice for those of us taking the train from New York to Boston on how to get to the MIT campus?

I just approved this post and I figure I'm more likely than actual MIT students to be awake at the moment, so I'll just answer. Take the Red Line from South Station four stops to Kendall/MIT. From there you have to walk around to the front of the MIT campus to get to Buildings 2 and 4 (use the map linked in the first post of this thread), which involves walking northwest on Mass Ave, then left on Ames Street.

Whenever we've gone to MIT we've parked at a little lot on Mass. Ave near Vassar St.

It looks like Dartmouth will have only one team, although two is still a small possibility.

So we're at 9 or 10 teams for tomorrow. Either way, we'll do a full round robin, probably a short playoff, and finals. Teams should meet in 2-136 by 8:40 AM.

A heads up for anyone taking the T out to the Kendall/MIT station tomorrow: regular train service will be replaced by bus service on the relevant stretch of the Red Line. In the past, this hasn't been a problem--the buses run the route just fine. It may take slightly longer than normal, though.

Thanks to MIT for a well-run tournament on a well-written set. Just a note, I don't think we got 18 toss-ups in our first game against Yale. Teagan McClintock should probably have 0 toss-ups instead of 9, heh.
