I have a simple question.
For standard NAQT High School rules is the following situation within these rules.
-Team 1 Buzzes in and negs (-5)
-Team 2 Buzzes in and powers the same tossup, then gets 30 points on the bonus (45 points)
Thus the spread for this tossup will be a 50 points (Team 1 has -5 while Team 2 has 45). Is this allowable under NAQT rules or is the maximum points spread per tossup capped at 45?

Re: 50 Point Spread Tossup
Doesn't the fact you're reading those rules means it is allowed?

I've powered after the other team has negged, but that was on an hsapq set. I'm not sure if the same would be allowable in naqt

Re: 50 Point Spread Tossup
Rule G.9: There is a 5-point penalty if the first team interrupts a tossup with an incorrect response. A subsequent incorrect interrupt by the second team does not result in another penalty; only one 5-point penalty may occur per question. The second team may still earn 15 points with a sufficiently early signal. Players may earn 15 points on power tossups at any point in the game, including overtime.
What you described is completely possible. A team that leads by 50 points with one tossup left (assuming no pending protests) could still lose if they neg, and the other team vulture-powers, 30s the bonus, and wins in overtime.
