Is the field on NHBB's site completely up to date? I'm fairly shocked that only 3 schools have registered so far.

For what it's worth, Irvington will be bringing at least 2 teams (1 Varsity, 1 JV), we just haven't registered yet, hopefully other teams are just similarly slow at registering.

I expect roughly 20-25 teams at this. Most are just like Irvington in this regard. Basically, I don't have a problem with registrations 1-3 weeks out, but I vastly prefer that teams at all NHBB sites do not register the day or two before a tournament if they know they are coming weeks in advance. The last minute registration policy is there to be flexible and encourage teams who weren't previously planning to come. Getting registrations late from teams that know they're coming well in advance makes coordinating tournaments that much more difficult, especially regarding things like buzzers.

Irvington defeated Great Neck South A 350-210 to win the Varsity Bowl. Kellenberg A and Hills West A were the other semifinalists.
Andy Margulies (Hills West) defeated Alec Vulfson (Irvington) 5-4 on the ninth question to win the Varsity Bee. The playoffs were THE highlight of the tournament, as the second playoff round ended with four people at 3 questions each before the last question, and Alec earning his spot in the finals by answering 4 of the last 6 questions.
I believe St. Ignatius Loyola won the JV Bee over Kellenberg B. Joe and Mark from Kellenberg were the two JV Bee finalists; I do not remember who won.

A huge thanks to Irvington and North Babylon (which wasn't even attending) for supplying the bulk of our buzzer systems, and to all of the coaches/other team-affiliated people who read throughout the day, without whom we couldn't have run this tournament at all.
Also, I'd like to apologize for two mishaps I caused: delaying the handing out of playoff brackets because I went OCD and entered the last round of JV games into the spreadsheet we were keeping stats in before grabbing the already-printed brackets and handing them out, and forgetting how to arrange a 12 team single-elim bracket, causing a unnecessarily large delay between the first two rounds of playoffs as we juggled around teams and readers appropriately. I will try my hardest to avoid such mistakes when staffing future tournaments.

You'll have to thank White Plains for some of the buzzers as well. I know that Joe beat Mark in the JV Bee.

CYRUS ZHOU from GREAT NECK SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL
I believe it was Ryan Zhang form Great Neck South who finished in the top 5 not Cyrus Zhou.
