Re: Carnal Embrace VI at Arcadia High School (2/18/12)
Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience, but could this tournament be moved to 2/20 (national holiday). University would like to attend, but considering how many of our players have All-State Orchestra that weekend (a once-a-year weekend thing) and won't be back until Sunday afternoon, only a Monday tournament would work. Let me know if this potential Monday tournament would be feasible. Thank you for your understanding.

Science Olympiad Regionals is also on 2/18. A date change may increase field size.

Re: Carnal Embrace VI at Arcadia High School (2/18/12)
Would a 2/20 date work for the hosts? Considering its a Monday off from school, I'm assuming most people will be free, unless they are traveling (in which case they would be gone during the weekend as well). And no academic competition conflicts that I know of occur on weekdays. In short, does Monday 2/20 sound good to everyone (making the date change as early as possible would be best so that people can plan their schedules)? Thanks.

We can definitely consider Sunday Feb. 19 and Monday Feb. 20 as possibilities - I'll update once I hear from more schools.

I know for a fact that RB won't be able to attend if the tournament is held on the 18th--that's San Diego Science Olympiad, and virtually all of RB Quizbowl is in it.

It's going to be hard to get transport since we usually have parents drive and a lot of people are working that day.

Re: Carnal Embrace VI at Arcadia High School (2/18/12)
Transportation could be an issue, though I'm guessing at least one parent would be available for each team and you could carpool. Plus, it is a national holiday, so many jobs will not have work that day or have lighter loads than usual.
Similarly, many people have religious services on Sundays, so I believe 2/20 on Monday would be best. Any other opinions?

If it is moved to the 20th (not 19th for many people have church), I believe Torrey Pines may be able to send at least one team.

We have moved this tournament to Monday the 20th of February to accomodate teams with conflicts. Who is planning on coming? We would like to get an estimate so we can proceed with securing the necessary facilities. Thanks!

Re: Carnal Embrace VI at Arcadia High School (2/20/12)
I've heard NoHo A beat Canyon Crest A in the final (though Canyon Crest had beaten NoHo earlier in the day) and that University may have finished behind them. Torrey Pines was not there and La Jolla was missing its best players.
Stats would be wonderful to have though too.

Re: Carnal Embrace VI at Arcadia High School (2/20/12)
I apologize for the delay on stats, but I'm still working on combining the afternoon and morning rounds. Attempting to merge the two SQBS files has not worked out for me, so I've resorted to simply reentering the afternoon stats on my computer (which only has the morning rounds).
As for results, North Hollywood A defeated Canyon Crest A in a one game final.

The stats have been finished and were sent to NAQT last night.
I greatly apologize for the long delay, and I assure all you guys that this isn't a reflection on Arcadia's tournament running ability. It was just my own incompetence.
