Penn Bowl at Buffalo - 1/28/12
I am pleased to announce a mirror of Penn Bowl (viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12330&start=0&) at the University at Buffalo, on 1/28/12.
Location and Logistics:
The tournament, like other Buffalo tournaments, will likely take place in Talbert Hall (http://www.buffalo.edu/buildings/building?id=talbert). Please arrive at 9AM, so we can handlle finances and get started on rounds by 9:30AM. It is important to arrive on time, because our student government finance liaison can leave at his/her discretion after the official selling period has ended, and we aren't allowed to handle incoming funds.
Fees:
Registration fees and other discounts:
Base fee per team: $120
Functional buzzers (8 players, minimum): -$10 each
Competent moderators: -$10 each
Other staffer: -$5 each
Travel (per school): -$15 per 200 miles (one-way, determined by Google Maps)
If you submit a packet, there are additional discounts: be sure to consult the main page, and let us know if you have submitted
Minimum fee per school (including packet discounts): $45
Schools (Teams): (edited 1/3)
Buffalo (1-2)
McMaster (1-2)

You don't want me anywhere near literature that's not sci-fi or written in Latin. Seriously.

Bump.
Just a reminder that this is happening in 4 weeks. No packet required, so come and have some fun.

Quick note on finances:
Due to our financial overlords, we are currently unable to accept Canadian Currency. This includes cheques from Canadian banks. There is an on campus ATM without a surcharge, which we can direct you to if necessary. Alternatively, a purchase order or a cheque from a US based bank is perfectly acceptable. Please plan accordingly.

We might have a team at this. I'll try to have that confirmed when we come to BARGE tomorrow.

Hey, Mac will have two teams, although they may not be full-sized. Shouldn't be too much of an issue though, right?

Re: Penn Bowl at Buffalo - 1/28/12
Great job to Zach and Matthew for a really well run tournament, especially considering the circumstances. The only way it could have possibly been better is if there were a karaoke challenge or a break-dance contest or free money raining from the sky or something else to do during those awkward hour breaks as our hosts frantically tried to call Penn to get more packets sent over.

I concur. I think free money raining from the sky might've devolved into fisticuffs though, so it's probably better we just sat awkwardly :p Thanks Zach and Matthew!
