I want this to happen soooooo bad.MacSR wrote:Hmm I like those ideas. Mac might travel to Chicago to play COLT, so we would be able to host a mirror here for sure.
So how I see it playing out right now would be: Mac hosting an academic open tournament or Moon Pie + COLT on a weekend in early August. We'd host Jeff Goldblum around its normal late August date.
How about that? Again...I'd still have to contact the other writers about mirroring their tournaments.

Re: VETO?
Just to get some momentum back in this thread, I've gotten permission for a COLT mirror at Mac, and I've also inquired about hosting a Moon Pie mirror, but have not heard back yet.
Which weekend would people (especially those traveling from the U.S.) prefer for a two day (Academic Tournament TBA) + COLT mirror at McMaster University?:
August 6th + 7th
OR
August 13th +14th
For those who would be traveling and would also like to spend some time checking out other things, here's a calendar with events going on in Toronto (a 40 minute-1 hour bus ride away depending on traffic) that may help you choose which weekend you would prefer: http://www.toronto.com/thingstodo/event ... &year=2011. The Toronto Blue Jays would be in town for the August 13th weekend.
Let me know, and I can start the room booking process and make announcements.

Re: VETO?
There's maybe a 20% chance I could make the first weekend, and essentially a 0% chance I could make the second weekend.

I wouldn't be able to make it the second weekend either.

Re: VETO?
The latter is the weekend of VCU Open, which means I'm out, but I'm also not available on the former weekend due to work-related travel. So I guess you shouldn't count on me either way.

Is there going to be an official announcement for this soon?MacSR wrote:Just an update,
It looks like Mac will be hosting Moon Pie and COLT mirrors on the weekend of August 6th-7th.

I figured it might be a good idea since Michigan just announced a VCU mirror on that weekend and you might want to let people know that there'll be a tournament that we can attend without crossing the border.

Re: VETO?
Argh why does the Moon Pie mirror have to be on the same weekend as VCU Open?
Am I going to have any chance to play a good academic regular difficulty event before next summer? -_-
