Class of 2011 High School Set (Interest Check)
Class of 2011 High School Set (Interest Check)
This is a preliminary interest check for a set to be written entirely by students who are currently high school seniors. The idea would be to have the Class of 2011 produce a set between now and the end of the year that could be mirrored across the country for the 2011-2012 season. I anticipate that many of us will be busy preparing for college in the upcoming months, so I am arbitrarily going to state that we will need at least 15 writers to keep the necessary individual contributions reasonable. My hope is that if this works reasonably well, someone from the Class of 2012 will take the initiative to lead a similar project a year from now, and so on. Target difficulty, tossup length, and other factors can be determined later, but for now I am hoping for a college player or more to help oversee this project (and maybe someone from the Class of 2011 can do so the year after), and for general comments on its feasibility.

I'm definitely interested in helping out with this, though we would have to make sure to set up a system of deadlines like George did for FNT in order to make sure that it gets done close to whatever deadline is decided upon

I'm open to a deadline closer to the end of the calendar year than the beginning of the next academic year if that's going to lead to a better set and be less stressful for everyone involved. It depends on when people would prefer to mirror this.TheCopleyIndian wrote:I'm definitely interested in helping out with this, though we would have to make sure to set up a system of deadlines like George did for FNT in order to make sure that it gets done close to whatever deadline is decided upon

I'd love to help write US History, Euro History, and/or Astronomy questions for this.

Yeah, probably a lot of us are doing FNT and stuff over the summer, so it would probably be better that way. I'd definitely be interested if this were the case, but I'm not sure how much time I'll have available to commit over the summer.NoWayItsTanay wrote:I'm open to a deadline closer to the end of the calendar year than the beginning of the next academic year if that's going to lead to a better set and be less stressful for everyone involved. There is a dearth of science writers on this project. Will more sciencey people sign up to help on this?

GDS has some questions, approximately 100/100, that could be used. We planned on writing a full tournament, but we need an editor anyway. How many do you have?
