The Case Trivia Team wishes to invite you to attend our annual Great Lakes Regional Academic Championship (GLRAC) tournament on March 26th, 2011. Specific information regarding the tournament is outlined below.
Format and Questions
This tournament will be run using the standard PACE format. The question set to be used is BATE - for those curious, information about this set can be found here.
The structure will involve a bracketed round robin for the preliminary rounds, followed by a rebracketing into playoff brackets of similarly skilled teams. For those teams in the championship playoff bracket, the winner will be decided using an ACF-style final, if necessary. Each team will be guaranteed 7 games, although we will attempt to provide more if it is logistically feasible. We will arrange for a JV division if there is enough interest.
This tournament is anticipated to be a qualifier for the PACE NSC.
Pricing Structure
$55 for 1st team
$50 for 2nd team, $40 for each additional team
-$10 per school for each experienced reader provided
-$5 per school for each workable buzzer set
-$10 per team for every 100 miles driven one way (determined by distance from your school to Case using Google Maps)
-$15 for each team that also played in our March 5th tournament (N.B. this discount only applies to teams that play in both tournaments. For instance, if your school brings one team on March 5th and two teams on March 26th you will receive a $15 discount since you only had one team play both tournaments. This works the same way if you bring two teams on March 5th and only one team on March 26th.)
Minimum Fee per team: $25
N.B. Schools must provide one experienced volunteer for every two (2) teams that they register. This means that if a school registers 4 teams they must provide 2 readers.
Because of the limited amount of staff that we can provide we will initially be setting the cap limit at 24 teams. There is a chance that this cap will be extended higher if we can secure enough volunteers, but in order to secure yourself a spot I would encourage all schools to register as soon as possible once you are sure you can attend.
To register or express interest in this tournament please email me at sww8[at]case[dot]edu. Please include the number of teams, buzzers, and staff you will be bringing as well as whether or not you qualify for any other discounts.
Thank you, and the Case Trivia Club and I look forward to seeing many of you at Case come March.

Northmont overcame a three way tie with Copley and Olmsted Falls to take home the tournament title. Congrats to them for their impressive victory.
