PSAT/NMSQT Mirror at Case - 3/5/2011

Post by Ras superfamily »

I am pleased to announce Saajid's Academic Tournament / Another Cleveland Tournament (SAT/ACT) which will be held on March 5, 2011 at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio

Questions:
The tournament will use a pyramidal tossup/bonus 20 question format (20 tossups followed by 3-part bonuses for the team that answers the tossup correctly).

The question set will be PSAT/NMSQT which is a regular difficulty high school set being written by St. Anselm's and Torrey Pines of Washington DC and San Diego, respectively. More information about the question provider, including subject distribution, can be found at http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... f=1&t=9940

Tournament format:
There will be bracketed round robins for preliminary rounds followed by rebracketed playoffs, including consolation brackets, and an ACF-style final if necessary. A JV division may be created depending on interest.

Pricing:
$70 for the first team
$50 for each additional team
-$5 for each experienced reader
-$5 for each buzzer set
-$10 for teams more than 100 miles away

Minimum Fee per team: $30

N.B. Schools must provide one experienced volunteer for every two (2) teams that they register. This means that if a school registers 4 teams they must provide 2 readers.

Registration:
To register, please include the number of teams, the number of buzzer systems, and the number of staffers that you intend to bring in an email to saajidmoyen[AT]yahoo[DOT]com

Unless they emailed you specifically, this should be St Ed's.
