your are wrong is probably my favorite. Is there a copy of the letter it came from floating around somewhere?

ALL OF YOU GOT YOUR TODDS FEENISED and MEOW both need to be on that list before it loses all credibility.

Sadly, pretty much all the stuff like this on the QBWiki got purged when it was transferred to the new site.

Reinstein, "ALL OF YOU GOT YOUR TODDS FEENISED" and "woned in teh fase" are from the same post, so the argument could be made that they're the same meme.

Fortunately, QBWiki has been converted into a wiki devoted to recording the newest mythos system in the world, so this is not such an issue now.

Yeah, but I don't know of anyone who ever ran around screaming MEOW MEOW as an actual joke. Maybe it's just died out, but it's my understanding that's more of a thing that happened, rather than a catchphrase, per se.

Maybe Tim Young can clarify, but one of his old posts to alt.college.college-bowl contains a reference to the following tossup he submitted to an October 1996 tournament at Cornell that packet-swapped with the Michigan State Buzz-A-Rama and some other tournaments:

"Meow meow for a quick ten points meow the moderator is meow imitating meow, what fictional character meow found in meow the Land of Make Believe meow in Mr. Roger's Neighborhood?"

The rest of that thread (see the bottom) contains an account of what can only be described as a bad neg.

I believe that qualifies as a solid quizbowl meme, even if it died out with alt.college.college-bowl.

"Meow" was pretty before my time, but some high school team at NSC I read for said it whenever they didn't know a bonus part, so it is either persisting or it was some anime joke I didn't understand.

Didn't see the original thread until now, but this has a pretty comprehensive/precise-ish history of "MEOW".

Was up to date as of 2005. Y! Boards have since been supplanted by these boards, and I'm no longer officially GWQT's advisor.
