North Georgia Academic Team Tournament (take three) 4-3-10

The North Georgia College and State University Academic Team is proud (again) to announce (again) the Inaugural North Georgia Academic Team Tournament (NGATT), to be held (again) Saturday April 3, 2010, on the North Georgia campus in beautiful Dahlonega, Georgia, located north of Atlanta. This tournament (again) will be using NAQT Packets (IS 91A). This is the third time we've tried to host the event, each time before that being snowed out. Seeing as it's April, I think we'll be OK.

The format will be either a regular RR or a random prelim/matched playoff system wherein all teams will play 5 prelims among random teams and then be rebracketed into matched divisions for 5 more rounds of playoffs. Rounds will consist of 20 TUs with 30-point bounceback bonuses. Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in the championship playoff division. This tournament also will serve as a qualifier for the NAQT High School National Championship Tournament, to be held Memorial Day Weekend 2010.

The entry fee will be $65 for each team with no limit on teams from a school. Checks can be made out to the NGCSU Academic Team and be mailed to:

We certainly hope that teams are still able to come, but, given it's Easter weekend, we understand if you cannot. Please let us know either way ASAP so we can start looking at the number of rooms we really need as we are also hosting the MUT Mirror the same day. Thanks!

Central Gwinnett will definitely be there but, since it's during our Spring Break, our team may only consist of 2 or 3 players.

NGATT field is set at eight teams. Format will be 1xRR with 4/4 playoff for a total of ten rounds 20/20 with 30 point bounceback bonuses.
