CO Matchmaking

Post by Cheynem »

Now that we know when and where CO will be, the plebeians can start forming teams and writing packets. I'm looking for some teammates. I'm not good at anything, but can one-clue tossups on "Miss America." I write questions for a living so I'm comfortable writing a packet fast. I'll try not to pass out from the heat this year.

Others, of course, should post their team requests as well.

What I lack in PPG I make up for in cute animal pictures. Would love to play on a team that’s entirely made up of women, message me on FB/forums if interested.

I'm looking for teammates. Last year I had an unexpectedly good CO so I assume I will play poorly this year.

Unfortunately Itamar can't play with us anymore, so Kai, Wang, and I are looking for a fourth. Lit players particularly welcome.

EDIT: Caleb Kendrick will now be joining us

Mike and I are playing together. We're especially eager for someone who knows some science to join our team.

I'm looking for some teammates with whom to play CO, have unfulfilling conversations, and eat at Medici's afterward, msg me if you're in.

Not sure about the eating at Medici's part since the tournament is in Evanston, but Matt Bollinger has joined our team. We are especially trying to get a scientist now.

Dylan Minarik and I are looking for teammates, especially those that know science or lit or arts. No carders.

I too am looking for CO teammates. I'm passable at visual arts, other science, and fake physics. If these niche interests bore you, hit me up!

Edit: Aidan and I are playing together. Get in touch if you'd like to join!

If anyone wants a middling history and visual arts player who can sometimes get a little lit (but probably not much) message me!

I made a team formation spreadsheet:

If you have formed a team, please register that information therein.

I'm a solo free agent this year for the first time ever at CO. I'm not good, but I bring a cooler full of drinks which my teammates have access to. And if you don't know, I'm an English professor, which is why I'm not good at lit. Call for a good time.

Edit: I should mention that my teams have always hit the earliest packet submission deadline, and I'm halfway done with my minimum of 6/6, if that's a selling point.

Another edit: I am humbled to be bringing my 10 ppg to a team of Dylan Minarik, James Lasker, and Ryan Rosenberg, who will bask in the hydration possibilities I will present.

Mitch McCullar and I (and Adam Fine? or Brad McLain?) are looking for someone who knows history (and possibly RMPSS or science pending additions to our roster). We promise to make it a fun day. We will make sicko buzzes that will make you think we do nothing but study quiz bowl all day and negs that will make you wonder if we've ever actually played quiz bowl before.

Maybe you'll get the 2017 me that kinda just sat there and scored 10 ppg, maybe you'll get the 2018 me that was leading scorer on a good middle-bracket team, and maybe you'll get something else entirely! Are you brave enough to find out?

Matt Lafer and I will be playing.

We can sometimes get humanities questions if they drone on long enough to get to the one thing we still remember about the answer, provided that I don't neg it first by buzzing on a thing that I thought I remembered about the answer.

Science, classical music, or any other players welcome.
