2019 ACF Regionals @ Georgia Tech (1/26/19)

The Georgia Institute of Technology will host a collegiate quizbowl tournament on Saturday, January 26th, 2019. This tournament will use this year's ACF Regionals question set. More information on the question set and eligibility to play it can be found here.

Registration
To register, please fill out the central registration form here and email me at [email protected] with your school, number of teams, and number of staffers/buzzers.

Location and Time:
Games will take place in the Howey Physics building on the Georgia Tech campus. Please check in between 8:30 and 8:45; the opening meeting will start promptly at 9:00 and rounds will start immediately thereafter.

Fees and Payment:
Base fee: $135
Buzzer: -$5/functional system
Staffers: -$10/staffer
Shorthanded fee (teams of 1 or 2 players): $60
New to quizbowl discount: -$100

Packet Submission:
Any team with at least one person on it who played a regular, collegiate, academic quizbowl tournament* (either as a college student or as a high school student) prior to September 1, 2017 is required to submit a half-packet. House teams from host schools, as well as teams composed of people who have not played regular, collegiate, academic quizbowl tournaments prior to September 1, 2017, are not required to submit a half-packet, but may choose to do so by the no penalty deadline for a -$50 discount.

The submission schedule for this tournament is:

November 18th, 2018: -$50
December 2nd, 2018: -$25
December 16th, 2018: No penalty
January 6th, 2019: +$25
January 13th, 2019: +$50
After that, +$10 for each additional day that you're late.
After January 20th, you will be dropped from the tournament, with no exceptions.

Please submit your half-packet to [email protected]. The actual e-mail with the attached half-packet should have a subject-line reading: "School + Team Letter (if applicable) HALF-PACKET." In order to meet a deadline, you must submit your half-packet before 11:59pm Eastern Time on that date. Half-packets should be submitted in Microsoft Word .doc or .docx format.

Field update 1/20. We're at 16, but I'm open to adding one more team to replace a GT house team. Hoping to stay at 16 teams.

Congratulations to Georgia A for winning the tournament! Georgia Tech A came in second overall and won the Undergraduate category. Auburn placed second in the UG category as well. Georgia Tech C was the highest DII team. Stats.
