I am pleased to announce Jasmine, the spiritual successor to last year's highly acclaimed Apoorva. Jasmine will be an open mirror of the 2018 National All-Star Academic Tournament (NASAT) in Southern California this summer, July 7th, 2018, at UCSD. The tournament directors for the event will be P.C. Chauhan and Jonathan Luck.
DATE / TIME: The tournament will take place on Saturday, July 7th, 2018. Registration will begin at 9:20 AM. The first round will begin promptly at 10:00 AM.
LOCATION: The tournament will be held on the 1st-3rd floors of the Computer Science & Engineering Building (EBU3B) campus of UC San Diego (Located on Voigt Drive, La Jolla, CA 92093). The meeting room will be room 1220.
ELIGIBILITY: All persons - regardless of age, level of education, or status as an active quizbowl player - are eligible to play the tournament in whatever combination of teams they choose. A team formation sheet is available here.
REGISTRATION: Registration can be completed by emailing [email protected] with the following information:
a) Team name
b) Team roster (max of 6 players)
c) Number of buzzer systems
d) Number of moderators
e) If your team has fewer than 4 players, indicate whether your team would be willing to accept free agents.
f) A contact email and phone number
PRICING:
The registration fee structure is as follows:
$65 a team
-$5 per buzzer set
The minimum cost for this tournament is $50.
The field is currently capped at ten (10) teams. Registration fees will be accepted on-site only, in either cash, check, or venmo. Checks must be made out to "San Diego Quizbowl".
