Berkeley Weekend of Quiz Bowl (8/5-6/2017)

I'm happy to announce that we have secured rooms at UC Berkeley for a 2-day open NASAT + side event mirror. The schedule is as follows:

Saturday, August 5:

Naveed Bork Memorial Tournament

This schedule is subject to change, so let me know if it poses any major problems for your team as it stands.

This tournament is open, so teams are not restricted by eligibility or affiliation. Teams of 4 are permitted for each event.

There is a field cap of 10 teams for each event, after which teams will be added a waitlist.

You MUST email me at njpeters (at) berkeley (dot) edu in order to be considered registered!!!! Facebook messages or replies to this post will not count as registrations. When you register, please include:
- your team name
- your team roster
- cell number at which you can be reached on tournament day
- number of buzzers
- number of staffers
- desired events (if you aren't playing with the same team for each event, I need separate registration emails!)
A registration lacking any of this is not considered complete!

There is a team formation Google Doc here, but keep in mind that filling out the Google Doc does NOT mean you are registered!

We are always in need of more staff to make this weekend happen. Please email me if you're interested in staffing - lunch will be provided for all staff. Unaffiliated staff will receive reasonable parking compensation as well.

Fee Structure:
NASAT:
Base fee: $80
Buzzer discount: -$5
Staffer discount: -$10

Side events:
$15/player for first side event
$10/player for each subsequent event

Berkeley students play NASAT and side events for free.
