McGill is bringing 3-4 teams to this tournament. We may also be bringing one staffer that isn't me. We'll confirm early next week.

The field listing in the original post is now Up to Date. If you are a school intending on coming to this tournament, and you have yet to make contact with Joe Su or myself, now would be an optimal time to do so since we are less than a week away from the tournament.

Time

This tournament is scheduled to begin at 9:30am. As such, it is ESSENTIAL that all teams arrive between 8:45am and 9:15am. We need to make sure all buzzers are set up and all the pre-tournament instructions are discussed before the tournament begins, so you need to make sure that all players are arriving well ahead of the scheduled start time. Any teams that arrive after 9:15am run the risk of being forced to forfeit games or be unable to participate fully in the tournament. This tournament will be done by 5pm at the latest, including finishing the championship game. There will also be book prizes and trophies for the winning teams, so we discourage teams from leaving early.

Location

This tournament will be taking place in Carleton's Residence Commons building (more commonly known as Res Com, R.C., or C.O.). This is a location that we have not held a tournament in before, but it should be an excellent space. Our Control Room will be located at RESIDENCE COMMONS 214. To get to the room, simply walk into the building's main entrance (the one located on Campus Ave.), walk up the stairs to the second floor, walk into the buildings main foyer, then head down the hallway on your right (near the bathrooms and vending machines). Don't worry, there will also be Carleton students spread out to help find you and guide you to the room. See the map further down in this email for more information.

Transportation

For teams driving to campus, I recommend parking in P-6 or P-18 (the parking garage) at the north end of campus. Both are only $4 for the day and are the closest major parking lots to the Residence Commons building. From there, simply walk down Campus Ave. until you get to the Residence Commons entrance. This is outlined on the map below.

For teams/players coming by public transit, you can take the 4, 7, 111, or 129 bus routes to get to campus. The closest stop to the Residence Commons building is CAMPUS / COMMONS. You can also take the O-Train to the Carleton stop. These are outlined on the map below.

Lunch

The Residence Commons building contains Carleton's Fresh Food Company, a buffet style cafeteria. The Fresh Food Company has vegetarian/vegan/halal/kosher/gluten-free meal options, as well as many other foods too. It is a nut free facility. I highly recommend that all teams eat there for lunch. Lunch will cost $9.73 per person. Staffers, your lunch will be paid for.

Map

The map relevant to the tournament is here: http://i.imgur.com/bNDJ2li.jpg . The yellow star is the Residence Commons main entrance, the red box highlights P-6 and P-18, the blue circle is the O-Train stop location, and the solid green dot is the approximate location of the nearest bus stop.

Stats

Congratulations to McGill A for clearing the field. We hope to run more novice events on NAQT's new collegiate novice series throughout the year. Meanwhile, we'll see everyone at ACF Fall!
