You knew it was coming-the VETO East Tournament Announcement

With the sound effects of the shark attack from JAWS, and just when you thought it was safe to get back into Toronto's water, comes:
VETO! The *free* tournament where teams compete for, umm, glory, and unofficially the most knowledge of Canadian content in quizbowl!
Five reasons why coming to VETO is a good idea:

1) It's free
2) It's a decent warm-up (ok, well, for pressing the buzzer at least) for the Chicago Open of the next weekend/Alternatively, an easier alternative to CO for less experienced teams
3) Toronto in the summer is nice, when the G20 isn't happening
4) It's a great opportunity to spread quizbowl into the deepest, darkest, VETOiest, corners of the continent by winning or something, and then (gently) pointing out areas for improvement
but most importantly because...
5) WE NEED YOU! VETO is a packet submission tournament, which means that the quality of the event varies in direct proprtion to participants. If you, o experienced quizbowl reader, come up and write/play this event, the event is enriched. VERY ENRICHED.

Regarding the Canadian Content restrictions, they are relatively easy to fulfill-just see the Canadian-themed pack at this year's ICT Guerrilla (not written by Canadians, btw) for an example.
