NAQT Invitational Series Reconfiguration

Post by Important Bird Area »

naqt.com wrote:NAQT is reconfiguring its Introductory and Regular Invitational Series so that the standard size of both is 12 packets of 24 tossups and 24 bonuses each. However, an alternate 13-packet version with packets of 22/22 will be available to hosts that want it.

Does this post apply to the upcoming "collegiate novice" tournaments?

It does not; the collegiate novice sets will remain 12 packets (as they were in 2015-16).

Given that hosts are now buying considerably fewer questions, will there be a similar change in the pricing of these sets?

Prices for these sets will remain at the same level they were in 2015-16.

(Notes:

-We have increased our payment rates for writers and editors this year.

-Very few tournaments (on the order of 2-3 events per competition year) were actually using the 14th packet of questions in an IS set.

Given those facts, we felt that cutting back to a maximum of 13 packets per set was a better choice than raising our prices.)
