The Quizbowl Resource Center

There seem to be a growing number of quiz bowl alliances popping up these days. I thought maybe it would be useful to collect some info on these alliances in one centralized location. As each of our alliances develops resources, it would be worthwhile to share them with one another to maximize the efficiency of everyone's operations.

EDIT: I should clarify what I mean by alliances. While it's also true that state activities associations and coaches groups can provide much needed assistance to quiz bowl, I was thinking more about those groups of college students, alumni, and other supporters who have grown as a grassroots effort to support high quality quiz bowl in their respective regions. National organizations like PACE also do similar work but I think it's sufficiently at a different scale that it is less relevant to my original intent.

http://kyquizbowl.org/ is obviously not built yet, but eventually we'll have a website that you can add to the list.

NCATA's website is pretty out of date, and we don't have the fancy "alliance" title, but it's a pretty active group of college players and coaches in North Carolina.

The IHSSBCA is not actually called a "quizbowl alliance", but is the closest thing Illinois has that I know of. You might also want to include PACE as a national quizbowl alliance, but I suppose it's high-profile enough.

There's not much going on with the GATA website but it exists and plenty of Georgia HS coaches are a part of it.

You might want to specify what you mean by an alliance. NAQT keeps a list here. I don't know how often it is updated, and it includes some groups that you probably have little to no interest in working with.

I've clarified a bit what my original intent was in the original post.

While it's great that there are a number of organizations doing quizbowl-building work, I was sort of purposefully excluding coaches associations, state governing bodies and activities associations and focusing on the sort of grassroots developmental work being done by other groups. Not that I think anyone should be excluded, by any means, but I hope you can see my thinking.

Some of my teammates and I are currently working on this kind of thing in order to expand the circuit in Delaware for the tournaments we host. We will try to probably do some high school outreach, but we are gonna mostly focus on middle school. I will post the link once we polish the site a bit more.

The GATA Website is getting a complete overhaul as we switch to a better webmaster, FYI.

Not going to lie, but I feel like the world would be a better place if we brought back Harlem Shake videos.
