Will there be some early MSU housewrite tournament like a Horatio Nelson once again?

No, instead of housewriting, we're mirroring HSAPQ tournament 41.

I'll be up at Central this year, so I'll try and see if I can get the school to host something that isn't another housewrite.

Will HSAPQ once again be providing the questions for the old KMO state tournament?

The Fall Kickoff Tournament will be hosted at Sidney High School in Sidney, Ohio on October 5th. I am hoping to draw some teams from out of state this year (Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky) so we can have an incredibly competitive field on what will be an excellent question set and a great opportunity to get teams playing early in the year.

Yes, this is the plan. They'll be somewhat similar to how they were last year.Weighted Companion Cube wrote:Will HSAPQ once again be providing the questions for the old KMO state tournament?

Re: Michigan 2013-14
We're considering moving our fall tournament to November 9 to avoid a conflict with a college tournament. I don't see any other tournaments announced for this day, does anyone know of a reason why we should not?

Not seeing any objections, we changed the date of our fall tournament to Nov. 9.

Re: Michigan 2013-14
I'd like to congratulate the members of 2014's team Michigan:
Jack Watts (Detroit Catholic Central)
Austin Foos (Detroit Catholic Central)
Harris Bunker (Grosse Pointe North)
Nishant Kheterpal (Skyline)
I apologize for the delay in announcing this - we wanted to look at the results of tryouts and other tournaments this year, and consult with various other people who have insight on the best (and best complementing) players.
Congratulations to them, and to everyone else who tried out - I know many of the tryout attendees were juniors who will hopefully be back next year.

Re: Michigan 2013-14
I spoke to Jack, Austin, and Nishant about NASAT. Jack and Austin can not go to NASAT this year because they are taking the ACT that date. Nishant is going he says, but we now need two more players and we still need an adviser for the team. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Any suggestions on good players in Michigan? We need two more people to even have a team basically, and we want to be competitive at NASAT. Michigan is a great state for quiz bowl, and I want that reflected in our performance.
Edit: May 19th
This is the new roster
Noah (Skyline)
Nishant (Skyline)
Dominic (Utica Academy of International Studies)
Harris (Grosse Pointe North)
We are lucky enough to have found a great sponsor, but we still need a coach/chaperone. Is there anyone from Michigan who is going to NASAT or is in Columbus June 14th? We'd be most grateful.
