It is my pleasure to announce formally the sixth annual Detroit Country Day School Middle School Quiz Bowl Tournament, to be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018. This will be a NAQT untimed event, with 20 tossup/bonus sets per game, using question set MS-24; the top 15% of teams in attendance will qualify for NAQT middle school nationals in Chicago on May 12-13, 2018.

The tournament will be held at the Detroit Country Day School Upper School campus in Beverly Hills, MI. Since we must share the building with a sizeable solo & ensemble festival this year, we will have limited space, and thus we can accommodate no more than 32 teams. If a school wishes to register more than four teams, any excess teams will be wait-listed until the close of registration on January 13, 2018.

The fee schedule will be as follows :

$50 for the first team from a school
$50 for the second team from a school
NO CHARGE for each team beyond the second from a school
-$10 per fully functional buzzer system that a school brings
-$10/school distance discount for travelling over 100 miles one way as per Google Maps

To register, please email me ([email protected]) with the amount of teams/buzzers that you will be bringing.

It is preferable that you pay by cash or check on your arrival at the tournament, but you may also mail payment to me at the school address beforehand. Please make checks payable to:

Detroit Country Day School Quiz Bowl
22305 West 13 Mile Road
Beverly Hills, MI 48025

Hope to see you on January 20th!

Congratulations to Spiritus Sanctus, who won a hotly contested Championship Division with a thrilling 295-250 come-from-behind victory over Emerson A, who took second place overall. Earning third place and MSNCT qualification was St. Patrick A.

Honorable mention goes to the winners of Consolation Divisions One and Two, Emerson B and DCDS B respectively.

Full stats will be sent to NAQT soon.
