I don't really know where to begin, but myself and a few other cadets have banded together to create West Point's first ever intercollegiate quiz bowl team. I'm sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before, but we are just getting started and were wondering if you could point us in the right direction as to the exact rules, tournament locations/ registration, and where to access practice questions. Thanks a lot!

Re: Army Quizbowl
A list of the major tournaments for the year can be found at these two links: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... 97&t=17284 and http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... 97&t=17711 . Rules will vary only slightly depending on what format the tournament is using, but the rules for the two major formats (ACF and NAQT, with ACF being the more common for collegiate quiz bowl) can be found here: http://acf-quizbowl.com/documents/official-acf-rules/ and https://www.naqt.com/rules.html . Hope this helps!

Re: Army Quizbowl
This is a formal description of the rules that apply to most quizbowl tournaments, while the articles here provide a more easily understandable description.
Tournament announcements and procedures for registration are posted in this forum. The tournaments that have been posted so far that you would be the most interested in are VCU Novice at Cornell and ACF Fall at Yale. Both of these are novice tournaments that provide a good introduction to collegiate quizbowl.
A large number of practice questions can be found here. Of these, the ones labeled ICCS, Collegiate Novice, Delta Burke, ACF Fall, and MUT (in rough order of ascending difficulty) are easier, the ones labeled ACF Nationals or have the word "Open" in their name are harder, and everything else is somewhere in between.
Good luck, and its nice to see another quizbowl-playing institution on the Hudson.
Edit: My apologies for missing George's post.

Re: Army Quizbowl
There definitely has been an Army quizbowl team before, I remember encountering one at an event in MIT circa 2008 or 2009. Anyway, it is fantastic to hear that you are starting a team, and I hope you can make it out to a lot of New England tournaments this fall.
You will want to attend a tournament called ACF Fall, which is perfect for beginners. In your region, it will be held on Saturday, November 7 at Yale University. More information can be found here: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =8&t=17712.
