STIMPY @ Louisiana Tech (3/14/15)

Post by Mnemosyne »

The Louisiana Tech Quiz Bowl Team would like to announce a mirror of STIMPY, a power-marked, regular difficulty, packet-submission tournament written by Maryland and Yale, on March 14, 2015. The original tournament announcement can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16524&p=294885&hilit=stimpy

This is a packet-submission tournament. Please note the following details from the original tournament announcement:

Our packet submission requirements are the same as that of ACF: "Any team with at least one person on it who played a regular, collegiate, academic quizbowl tournament (either as a college student or as a high school student) prior to September 1, 2013 is required to submit a packet."

Pricing

+$100 - Base Fee

Note: All submission times are by 11:59 PM of the day listed.
-$50 - Packet submitted by Sunday, December 28.
-$25 - Packet submitted by Sunday, January 11, 2015.
+$0 - Packet submitted by Sunday, February 8, 2015. (-$50 if packet optional)
+$25 - Packet submitted by Sunday, February 15, 2015. (-$25 if packet optional)
+$50 - Packet submitted by Sunday, February 22, 2015.
+$100 - Packet submitted after that, with an additional $10/day.2

Packets should be sent to us at stimpytournament AT gmail DOT com.

Penalty

+$10 - For major formatting errors, see: http://acf-quizbowl.com/documents/2014- ... formatting

Packet Guidelines

Standard ACF distribution and question length, see: http://acf-quizbowl.com/documents/2014- ... uidelines/

Logistics

The field for the Louisiana Tech site will be capped at 8-12 teams, depending on how the staffer and buzzer situations shape up. We will be using ACF rules for everything except the power marks. We plan to offer 8-12 rounds, depending on how many team register. The tournament will end in the 5-6 PM range. Registration will be at 8:00 AM and the tournament will start at 8:30 AM.

Registration and Fees

Base Fee: $100 per team
Buzzer discount: -$5 per buzzer (it looks like we'll only need like one buzzer, so we'll max this at one per team)
Staffer discount: -$20 for a (good, experienced) reader or -$10 for a scorekeeper
Travel discount: -$10 per 200 miles one-way (per google maps)

Minimum Fee: $45 per team

Payment is required before or on the day of the tournament in the form of check or cash. Make checks payable to “Louisiana Tech Quiz Bowl Team.”

Please start getting your packets in ASAP if you plan to play this tournament. To register, email ncollins93 AT gmail DOT com with your school, number of teams, buzzers, and staffers.
