So yesterday Oxford hosted another iteration of Deep Bench, playing tossups-only HFT as singles or doubles in the morning and SUBMIT as quads in the afternoon.
Teams from the North, the South, Oxford, and a mixed team made up of Oxford and Warwick alumni arranged themselves in various convoluted permutations to engage in buzzer based combat.
After the morning singles and doubles rounds, the scores were:
North 48
Open 35
Oxford 33
South 10
In the afternoon, quads played a round robin, except quads from the same team didn't play each other. Open 1st Quad won all their games, and at the end of the day the scores were:
North 73
Oxford 72
Open 66
South 18
So congratulations to the North. Full stats are at http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/2170
Thanks to all who came and played, to the moderators and to Chris Savory for organising the whole thing.
And thanks to Tanay and Stephen for letting us use their sets.
For the record, please keep all discussion of the sets to the relevant usergroups, since I don't think they're clear yet.
