2014 NAQT CCCT: February 28-March 1, Atlanta

NAQT is pleased to announce that its sixth annual Community College Championship Tournament will be held at the Hilton Atlanta, February 28-March 1, 2014.

Schools qualify to send teams to the CCCT through the performance of their teams at Community College Sectional Championship Tournaments (CC SCTs) in January.

The top four teams from this tournament will qualify to compete for the overall Division II collegiate championship at the 2014 Intercollegiate Championship Tournament (ICT) on March 29, 2014, in Chicago. This is a reduction from previous years, in which the top six qualified for the ICT.

Congratulations to Valencia A, who defeated Chipola A 405-245 in the second game of an advantaged final to win the 2014 NAQT Community College Championship Tournament!

This was an epic way to end the tournament. Chipola needed to beat Valencia twice to secure a first place victory, and they won by quite a margin the first game! In the next game there was a huge amount of anticipation, but Valencia's two main players brought their game to the table, and it was a sure victory for them after the halftime mark. Fun stuff! The best part about the whole weekend is that the system ran smoothly. Although I do feel bad for all of the other people in the hotel who didn't get to ride the elevator.
