James Dickey Memorial Tournament at USC

Post by bampfylde »

The University of South Carolina is proud to host the James Dickey Memorial Tournament: MASER's Daddy on Saturday the 2nd of October. It will be a moderately difficult academic tournament open to all undergraduates, graduates, and students in a degree-obtaining program at a University. The
difficulty will be at a level approximately between the difficulty of ACF Fall and ACF Regionals. Our goal is to keep it accessible to any member of quiz
bowl, with some questions and bonuses occasionally becoming more difficult.

The fees will be as following:
Base fee: $80.00
-$20.00 for moderator
-$10.00 for a working buzzer system (-$5.00 for an extra)
-$20.00 for traveling greater than 500 miles to get here
Minimum fee: $50.00

Everyone should arrive at 8:30am to check in and we will begin promptly at 9:00am. It will be held in the Russell House (our Student Union) located here:
http://www.sc.edu/cgi-bin/uscmap/uscmap ... ta=DSTU012

We will meet in Ballroom A which is through the front entrance and to your left. Parking is available in any lot colored green, blue, or pink on this map:

Moreover, any moderately intelligent or directionally sound person can use this map to get to USC from out of town:

If you are interested in attending or have any questions, please contact me at johncodringtonbampfylde[at]yahoo.com or ateam[at]gwm.sc.edu. For now we are capping the field at 16.

Thank you,

Are all questions being written by the U of South Carolina team, or is it packet submission?

Dickey Cancelled

Post by Ethnic history of the Vilnius region »

Due to a lack of interest, Dickey has been cancelled for this semester (October 2). We hope to reschedule in the spring semester sometime. Keep your eyes peeled for the rescheduling and please consider attending. It is sure to be an affordable, high quality, and challenging yet accessible tournament, but only if teams show up.
