Steven Diamond is going to either Stanford or Yale. I assume he plans to continue playing quizbowl.

Matthew from JFK is going to Chicago. He plans to continue playing quizbowl.

I will be going to American University, and I'll definitely try to start a team there.

Our captain, Chris Hartung, who doesn't post here, appears to be headed to the University of Delaware... and since he doesn't really care about quizbowl that much, probably won't play.

That's what I hope. Though, don't they have a anti-quizbowl quizbowler attitude? I hope it's not too much of an uphill battle. Also, ND quizbowl may turn into Loyola East Quizbowl--four of my teammates, one of whom is among the best in the state, are attending ND.

This is my final answer.

I am actually going to MIT and fully intend to play quizbowl there. Sorry, Caltech. .>.

...also, does anyone know how I could get in contact with current MIT players, short of stalking them on the forums? I know Dwight or someone posted a link to contacting college players, and I used it, but MIT hasn't responded yet... D:

They hosted SCT five years ago. I'm not sure how long after that it was that their club died.

I'm not class of '09, but this seems like the appropriate place to indicate that (barring an extremely improbable circumstance) next year I will be attending the University of Chicago and playing quizbowl.

DePauw had two teams of mostly underclassmen at EFT (as I, um, noticed at the time) so there's definitely a program there for you to join.

For any William and Mary people, my sister So-Jung Youn (TJ class of 09) and her friend Peter Kye (also TJ) are going to William and Mary next year and they've expressed interest in playing quizbowl. They weren't really active in high school, unfortunately, but they're willing to try for what it's worth.

One of the things I did at SCIENCE! was to have seniors put the college attending and an e-mail contact if they wanted to continue playing in college. So if you are a team contact at one of those schools, expect an e-mail in the next few days about potential freshmen that may or may not find their way to Dwight Kidder's list.

Hey, if you're coming to Chicago and plan on being involved with quizbowl, you can send me an email at marnold a.t uchicago.edu and I will add you to the club listhost. There's a chance we'll be playing a summer tournament or two - especially since "summer" means until October for us - and we have historically invited incoming players to play with us in those situations, among other exciting benefits (not needing to go to lame RSO fairs to find out about quizbowl, knowing about stuff surrounding Chicago Open if you're in the area then, helping come up with hilarious team names for next year, reading Seth Teitler's posts, etc.).

Also, if you see Chicago people at either NSC or HSNCT, feel free to come introduce yourself.

To rip off of Michael, the same invitation is extended to those coming to UIUC. A number of us will be at HSNCT, NSC, and Chicago Open. We are also planning to hold summer practices, so feel free to join us.
