Duke High School Celebrity Shoot: NOVEMBER 12!!!!

Post by First Chairman »

Okay... I have the final arrangements (since apparently I can still make them).

Duke High School Celebrity Shoot will be held NOVEMBER 12 (not November 5) at GROSS CHEMISTRY building (not Richard White Lecture Hall). The intended schedule will have teams arrive between 8:30 and 9:15 am at Gross Chem 107. All activities should end by 6:30 pm.

Registration details: you can email me. Please let us know how many people you intend to bring so that we make enough copies of the test. We are limited to 250 people, but it should be fun for everyone.

Registration fees are $55 for the first four students, $5 for each additional student, with early entries received by October 31 receiving a $20 discount. All adults are free to compete on a space-available basis.

To register, the email must include the student's name (preferred and family of course), current year in school (since we have separate prizes for 9-10 grade participants), and school team (if you are sending more than one foursome). Please note this competition does not retain nicknames for each team, but we assign each foursome a team number.

All entries must be received by November 5 so we can make enough copies. New students and teams are especially welcome to attend, including those from out of the Triangle area.

The questions used will be identical to the ones used for the Case Western Reserve High School Celebrity Shoot Biography Tournament. We also welcome any other organization that wishes to mirror this event, though you will need to be familiar with the format (no buzzers).

We're still taking registrations, and you need not be from a school in North Carolina to compete.

Registered teams (with rosters)...

Unfortunately my list has been locked in my new computer which decided one day that Windows XP is just too horrible. So it's in 2-week rehab.

So according to whatever notes I do have:

Registered teams with rosters (adult count is not solid) ---
Arendell Parrott Academy (8 students)
Chapel Hill High School* (12 students)
Millbrook High School (4 students)
Raleigh St. Mary's School (4 students)
Clayton High School (8 students)
Richmond Senior* (4 students, 2 adults)
McMichael High School (4 students, need grades)
West Montgomery High School (4 students, 2 adults)

Holding spots for
Raleigh Charter (15 student spots reserved)
Cardinal Gibbons*

* Last year's top 4 teams.

Post by First Chairman »

Okay... you all have pulled through a bit... but I still am wondering where some schools are on the roll call:

Arendell Parrott Academy (8)
Cardinal Gibbons (8)
Chapel Hill (12)
Clayton (8)
Hertford County (7)
Jordan Matthews (21)
Millbrook (4)
North Carolina Science and Math (TBA)
Raleigh Charter (15)
Richmond Senior (12)
West Montgomery (4)

Total student count at 99 with less than one week to go. Also verifying adult count (I think I have 8 so far).
