Please note that this is not a literal novice tournament -- it is open to ringers, seniors, high school students of any age. The use of the word "novice" is just to convey a sense of the new knowledge and new frontiers that the players are sure to enjoy.

This is our best attempt at baiting schools too scared to do quizbowl like UTS tbh.

A transcript of the logistics email I sent out tonight:

Hello schools,

Reminder that tomorrow is the Toronto Novice Quizbowl tournament here at U of T. We are looking forward to seeing you all! Here are the logistics for the day:

Please meet at 9:30 in room 54A of Wetmore Hall on the University of Toronto St. George campus for registration and payment. Wetmore Hall is located at 300 Huron Street/21 Classic Ave. If you are driving, parking is available nearby at 107 St. George Street (cash parking, $10.00). If you are taking the TTC, the nearest subway station is St. George. The meeting room is located in the basement of the building.

Please ensure you have payment ready at the start of the tournament. As I previously stated, cash or cheque is acceptable, with cheques made out to "University of Toronto Academic Trivia Club."

Lunch will not be provided, but there are plenty of lunch options around campus, so I recommend you either bring some money or your own lunch from home.

The tournament will start at 10:00 AM sharp, and we will be playing a double round robin (10 rounds) with a final, if necessary. We expect the tournament to be over by the mid-late afternoon.

If you have any questions/concerns tonight or the day of, please feel free to either send me an email or a text at [REDACTED].

See you all tomorrow!

Meghan Torchia
