Quiz Bowl at LSU cordially invites you to attend the 2016 Louisiana State University SpoOoOoktacular Quiz Bowl Tournament!

After a successful first time hosting this past spring, we've decided to double up and offer another tournament during the Fall. We've got some fresh faces full of energy and we're looking to hit a home run again!

Seeing as this tournament is the weekend before Halloween, we've decided to theme it up! If you would like, come in your favorite costume as a few of our members will be in their own costumes. If you're organized enough, you could even have your whole team organize a theme. Who knows, we could even see rounds of The Beatles vs. Soviet Premiers being moderated by Barnacle Boy! The possibilities are endless!

Logistics

Date: October 29th, 2016
Time: Registration opens at 8:00am, Rounds start at 9:00am
~~~~~Registration will occur in Room 103 Tureaud Hall
~~~~~Tournament should be finished by ~5:00pm
Packet: We will be using NAQT Invitational Series #160
Rules: NAQT rules, without a time limit (20 questions per round)
Rounds: We hope to guarantee 9 or 10 rounds
Lunch: You will have ~45 minutes for lunch around Noon (~Round 6)
~~~~~The Student Union is open on Saturday and a 5 minute walk, however the food options are a little limited on the weekends as not everything is open.
~~~~~There are many places to eat just off campus to the north (Five Guys, Chipotle, Poboys, etc.) and to the south (Taco Bell, Sonic, etc.)
~~~~~Please have an idea ready before it's time for lunch to ensure you have time to eat

Cost

$70 for the first team, $60 for any more teams
Minimum $40 per team
Discounts:
-$5 per buzzer system brought (max 2 per school)
-$5 per 75 miles traveled (one way) applied to the first team

There is a large parking lot across the street from Tureaud Hall

To register, please email me at [email protected] with your school, number of teams, the number of buzzers you will be bringing, and a phone number for contacting the coach/captain. Registration deadline is Wednesday, October 26.
