NOHO II at North Hollywood (4/11)

North Hollywood High School is delighted to announce NOHO (Not an Organ Harvesting Operation) II.

Location: 5231 Colfax Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91601
Date & Time: April 11th. Check-in begins at 8:00. First round begins at 9:00.
Eligibility: All high-school students are eligible and encouraged to play.

Food: There are two Thai restaurants, a Taco Bell, a Yum Yum Donuts, a Big Time, a Popeye's, and a Wienerschnitzel within walking distance (the first four or five -- depending on whether you count the two Thai restaurants separately -- are within a block of the school) . There is an In-N-Out within driving distance on Lankershim.
Registration: Teams may register in one of three ways.

1. Fill out this form.
2. Send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
a. Name of school
b. Number of teams being registered
c. Number of staffers being brought for the discount
d. Number of buzzer systems being brought for the discount
e. Contact name and number
f. Any other information we might find useful (for example, whether you qualify for a driving discount, and if so to what extent)
3. Post a reply to this topic with all the information outlined in (2), as well as
g. Contact email

There is a tentative cap of 20 teams for this tournament.

Price Structure: $80 for the first team, $70 for each team after the first.
-$5 for each functional buzzer systems
-$10 for each competent staffer provided
-$5 for each 50 miles traveled (as determined by google maps)
-$40 per team for schools that have not competed in an mACF-style or NAQT tournament in the past 2 years
Cash is preferred; leave check addressees blank (we don't have a club checking account, so we'll probably transfer any checks through an as-yet undetermined third party).

Format: NOHO will be using HSAPQ's Tournament 53 set, which is an ACF-format set with power markings. The tournament will consist of untimed 20-question rounds. This post will be updated with more information as we get a better understanding of what the field will look like.

EDIT: NOHO has also been gold-certified by PACE, meaning that the top 20% of competing schools will qualify for the PACE NSC on June 6-7.
