Lit at LIT

Post by Maury Island incident »

I want to run some kind of a literature side tournament at the Lexington Invitational Tournament (LIT). It would be doubles and tossup-only. Prelim rounds would be done during lunch. Participants in the side tournament would need to purchase our pizza and not leave campus for lunch. There would also be a $5 entrance fee for each non-Lexington player.
Playoffs/finals would be read after the finals of LIT. Prelim rounds would be half-packets. The playoffs would probably just be single-elim semis and finals due to time constraints. This would be an open thing so college readers can play. I am going to edit this, with writing and editing help from Jack Mehr and other people.

The distribution for a half packet would be as follows, and the difficulty would be similar to Harvard Fall: somewhere between regular and nationals high school difficulty. Tossups would be power marked. The finals packet will be slightly harder than the others.

American 2/0
British 2/0
European (including Russian) 2/0
Latin American 1/0
Asian 1/0
Trash Lit 1/0
Your Choice/Other World 1/0

Form teams at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing.

When should half-packets be submitted, and to where?

Oh, sorry I changed it. It's not packet submission anymore, it's being housewritten.

This might get canceled due to lack of interest, at least at this site. If people are interested in playing this, could you please form your teams in the spreadsheet. It would still be available for mirrors if anyone wants to mirror the set.

Would it be possible to mirror this elsewhere?

Would you want to mirror this as a side event during a tournament?

It would definitely be possible to mirror in whatever form you want.

Lit at LIT is going to get canceled due to lack of interest both at the main site and in mirrors.

Were any questions written for this set? I may have some of my students write if you need help to finish it.
