"IMSANITY 3" Available for Mirrors
Posted: Thu Jul 26, 2012 6:24 pm
I am happy to announce the set IMSANITY 3: LIMSANITY. This is the third iteration of IMSA's housewrite, and this year we are excited to include two new writers to the team, Morgan Venkus and Ian Torres of Loyola Academy (hence the "L").
IMSANITY aims to be a regular difficulty tournament in the sense of high conversion overall but not afraid to ask harder answer lines in reasonable moderation. Questions, especially bonuses, will feel unique, but more due to creative themes than to increased difficulty. IMSANITY seeks to be a leader with noncomputational math questions.
This set will be ready to play starting in early November. If there are tournaments in the later part of October that are interested in the set, we may be able to accommodate them as well.
This set will feature 15 rounds of 20/20 with a spare 1/1 in each packet. The distribution is:
4 Literature
5 Math and Science (with Math/CS/Stats being 1.5, Other Science getting 0.5, and each of Bio, Physics, and Chem getting 1)
4 History
2.5 Religion, Mythology, Philosophy
2.5 Fine Arts
.5 Geography
.5 Social Science
1 Trash and Current Events
A sample packet of IMSANITY2 is attached.
List of Mirrors
October 27: Woodland High School (Cartersville, GA)
January 12: Metea Valley High School (Aurora, IL)
January 19: Georgetown Day School (Washington, DC)
January 26: Bloomington High School (Bloomington, IL)
Prospective mirror hosts, or anyone with questions about the set, can contact me at [email protected].
