So I enjoyed Mik's NBA set enough that I think i'm going to take the tossups I wrote as practice, revise and expand them (and eliminate obvious repeats), and make my own set. There will be at least 5, hopefully 6 packets. I might like to attach it to Naveed's trash tournament this fall or something (it probably won't be finished until like early October).
The differences between Mik and my set will be:
1. My set will include college-related questions. The questions will not be on stuff that only has relevance to college (so like, no tossups on Jay Wright), but on stuff that includes connections to future (or ex!) NBA players.
2. I don't have a distribution, as is my wont. It will probably hit most of the eras/genres Mik asked about.
3. It will be a little harder, I think (well, okay, a lot harder at times). However, I will try to reduce one of the issues I had with Mik's set by requiring very few years or specific game numbers. That said, the overall difficulty of tossups is harder.

In the spirit of college basketball, those questions will be worth 50% less points than the other questions and be written in a whiter font.

But you'll work harder on those questions so it's fine.Cheynem wrote:In the spirit of college basketball, those questions will be worth 50% less points than the other questions and be written in a whiter font.

The college question will cost just as much, but all the profits will go to a cadre of besuited coaches and rights-negotiating middlemen.

I apologize for no progress on this; I've been busy on other projects. I also blame Naveed Bork.
I might shoot for a summer date for this now.
