Woooo, Waterloo is going to be organising a mirror of ACRONYM 7 (which is unposted and so mostly clear to Canadians) on Sunday, the 24th of April. This is the day after our mirror of MYSTERIUM.
The tournament is open-eligiblity, and will either be run as doubles, or standard teams of 4, based on how many people are playing.
The tournament is pseudo-free to play. Every player puts in $5 to play the tournament. The winning team gets to pick a charitable organisation of their choice, and all $$$ we've raised from player fees will be donated to the organisation.
This means we won't be offering buzzer discounts, but please still give us buzzers.
Also, we'll be organising some combination of side-events for the weekend. Under consideration are:
AVOGADRO'S NUMBER
Eyes That Do Not See
Stray CLEAR packets
Imaginary Landscape 3
FTP (Michigan State Trash packets).
We'd prefer to do the more popular ones on Saturday, since that's when more people will be present, but some of them will have to spill into Sunday. The discussion of the side-events planning can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=18480.

Harris Bunker from MSU has written five trash packets under the title FTP (Fuck this Packet). He intended to use them at ICT but did not have enough time to do so. The distribution is 4/4 sports, 4/4 music, 3/3 TV, 3/3 Movies, 3/3 Video Games, 1/1 Internet/Pop culture, 2/2 Misc and, in his own words "The set is uber trashy and supposed to be fun."Cheynem wrote:What are the Michigan State trash packets?

I'll likely be in for this, but not 100% certain yet.

ACRONYM stats. Team "I love Kanye" (Aayush/Ian/Mark) defeated the Eukaryotes of Fire (Jay/Adam/Patrick/Cole) in a one-game final.

As the winning team, we chose to donate the proceeds of the tournament (CAD 55) to Neechi Rides, an organisation that aims to provide free rides for First Nations people in Winnipeg. More info can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/k7mqt36c.
Thanks to Faith Barrett for the suggestion!
Also thanks to our staffers. Special thanks to Dennis Beeby for also doing stats, and to Erik Nelson for giving us the set for free!
