I'm pleased to announce the inaugural Missouri Regional Science Bowl for middle school (grades 6-8) students. Missouri Regional Science Bowl is a qualifying competition for National Science Bowl. The champion from the regional competition will win an all-expenses paid trip to compete in National Science Bowl in DC.
Science Bowl topics include Life Science, Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, Energy, Mathematics, and General Science.
The tournament will take place at the Saint Louis Science Center March 2, 2013. Registration is open until February 22, 2013 or until the tournament limit of 28 teams has been reached. Teams are comprised for 4-5 middle school students and one coach. Students should be enrolled in grades 6-8 and be born on or after September 1, 1997 and on or before April 25, 2003. While most teams come from schools, other student groups may also register given their neighborhood school is not participating. Schools may register up to 3 teams each on a space available basis with 1st teams getting highest priority.
Registration fee is $20, and all students will receive a T-shirt and certificate.
