Yesterday's play went almost completely on schedule. Some updates from the weekend.
Anton Karpovich defended the USGO title, sweeping both the multi-media and quiz bowl portions, with Tine Valencic second in both (the quiz bowl final went to OT). They will join David Yuan and James Mullen on the four-person team to Poland.
Abhinav Kurada won the USGO JV title by claiming the quiz bowl and finishing 5th in the multi-media. The multi-media champion, Jacob Polatty, tied for 7th in the quiz bowl to take the overall second place.
Bruce Lou defeated Sameer Rai 8-2 to win the inaugural US History Bee championship.
Later today in the Bowl Finals, we have Farragut vs. Westview for the JV title; meanwhile LASA vs IMSA and Saratoga vs Bellarmine in the Varsity semifinals. A bracket of how they got there is below.
The Bee is in round 3 at this time.
