(Edit 1/14 for clarity) Don't under any circumstances switch players between teams during a tournament - this is not allowed in NHBB (or basically anywhere else). In NHBB, a player can jump in mid-tournament to a team, as long as they have not had 6 players total, but only if they have not yet played for any team (i.e. if they are arriving late to the event). And no, you cannot switch players from a Varsity team to a JV team for the playoffs. Once you play for a team, you're stuck with them for that day at least.
