For Varsity students, $1000 in credit to be used to defray costs of expenses of participation on Team USA at the 2014 Intl. Geography Olympiad in Krakow, Poland on August 12-18.
This is extended first to the following students:

-Quiz Bowl Tournament Second Place
-Multiple Choice Exam Champion
-Overall Champion

See http://www.geographyolympiad.com/nationals/ for further details including what happens in the event the same student wins multiple competitions

The overall costs within Europe will total $2000. With $1000 defrayed, the cost is thus $1000. This includes everything except flights to Vienna and back from Krakow, as well as food at the Training Camp in Vienna, which will take place for 3 days directly prior to the Olympiad. We will fly to Vienna on the night of August 8, stay there the nights of 8/9-8/11, and then travel by train to Krakow on 8/12. On 8/18 or 8/19, we will fly back. Raynell Cooper and I will be the team coaches and chaperones.
The $1000 to be paid includes the following: competition fees at iGEO, food and housing at iGEO, travel from Vienna to Krakow, coaches' expenses, travel insurance, all sightseeing costs, housing in Vienna (single occupancy), and team shirt.

The Training Camp is mandatory and is for Team USA only. It will include 3 days of sightseeing at training in Vienna, with a possible side trip to Bratislava if students are interested. Students who win the right to play on Team USA have a month (until May 26) to commit to coming, though fees would not need to be paid until July 1. Thereafter, we will go down the list of Varsity students in order for each event (or overall) if the winner of said event can't make it. We will also make efforts to secure additional funding, as we hope that the top 4 students will indeed be able to come to Europe.
