He wasn't all that intrusive, except for the time he rushed over after I buzzed in to get a close up of my face. In the photographer's defense, John made a ridiculous face, and the practice was not in serious mode at the moment. In fact, the rest of the team enjoyed the moment immensely. At the tim...

This is probably a moot point, but I remember that in Algebra I, the standard form our book used was Ax+By=C, but in my analytic geometry class, standard form was Ax+By+C=0. When you get to conic sections, standard form always equals 0, so I would be inclined to think that the second standard form h...

I thought the Maine South questions were at least as good as any other fresh-soph questions I've heard all year. Of course, there were a few mistakes in the math tossups, but that happens sometimes. I really enjoyed the worksheets, but it was half-frustrating to come up with 9 out of 10 parts 4 diff...

Seeding like that for the State Finals would be great. It's kinda silly when the consensus two best teams are in the same pool, and the final matches end up being anti-climactic.

As far as I know, Scholastic Bowl is about the only sport/competitive activity whose participants predominantly refer to teams and players as "strong" or "weak." I just thought that was kinda strange. Especially since those adjectives have the least applicable secondary meaning to Scholastic Bowl.
