My preferred geographical history distribution includes 1/1 Continental Europe and 1/1 Anglosphere. This would fit Canada, Australia and New Zealand neatly into the Anglosphere category, along with both Canada's neighbour and former colonial master. Remember to account for both prelims and round robins at a number of the tournaments (like CO or ICT), some people are sleepy in the morning, but pull a Frampton in the afternoon and vice versa!
Very solid advice! Please especially heed this in the case of both Toronto teams at this year's ICT.

As an addendum to spreading out teams from a single school, in the event that you need to put multiple teams from a school together in a prelim pool, they should play earlier rather than later.
What problem does this minimise? Just curious.
