Re: Tennessee 2017-2018
I might as well pitch in my fair share for the thread. This year our primary lit person (Viktoria Ohstrom) and a science person (Nalin Varma) have graduated to college, but we already have ample replacements or have been training them to recoup for those losses. Anyways... Farragut: The primary team...

Civilization VI Discussion Thread
Anyone else really excited for the release of Civ VI this Friday (10/21)? I've always loved the Civilization series since I was in elementary and it was what inspired me to read up on history throughout my life. I was initially a bit irked by the stylistic changes that were introduced, but now I am ...

Anyone play or watch Smash Bros?
I'm just curious if anyone watches or plays Smash Bros in the QB community. I watch both professional Melee and Smash 4, and this may sound ridiculous but my mental game and patience is heavily influenced by the professional players in both games. If anyone is interested I would love to play them in...

Re: NAQT Thumbs Up for History practice sets
I bought all of the sets, and I can say that it is well worth the purchase. I can finally use NAQT packets for history without having to meticulously pinpoint history questions in each packet. This will help me out in future tournaments in both History Bowl and Quizbowl and I really wish to see a th...

Re: Tennessee 2016-2017
I can give a quick overview on the state of East TN at the moment. We unfortunately do not have too many teams so I'll be basing this off of attendance from surrounding regional tournaments and recent visits to national tournaments like HSNCT or PACE. Rosters are also based off of my memory and NAQT...

Re: L&N Train Bowl—Knoxville TN (10/08/2016)
Do the Knox County schools even play quiz bowl anymore?? L&N is in downtown Knoxville, and yet Farragut and Cedar Springs (home school team) are the only schools representing Knox County. Its unfortunately only Farragut (that I know of in Knox County) that actively travels to tournaments on a r...

Re: L&N Train Bowl—Knoxville TN (10/08/2016)
Farragut is still active, however its mostly just me and a few others who go to tournaments 2-3 times a month and they're almost always out of state (barring Ezell). I think its the learning curve that throws people off from going to tournaments, but there's probably whole threads about this topic. ...

Re: L&N Train Bowl—Knoxville TN (10/08/2016)
I might as well give this a bump too, East Tennessee Quizbowl needs more tournaments.

Need advice for improving a team (history bowl)
Hello everyone. I have recently hit an impasse on how to train my history bowl team and on how to improve their overall interest in the subject. I've been learning from my past defeats and experiences while playing for Farragut High, and after witnessing the determination and knowledge of many top p...
