Thank goodness Labov is finally in the canon: his stuff on AAVE is groundbreaking and super-accessible, and he was John Baugh's (also an awesome dude, worked with linguistic profiling) thesis advisor for goodness' sake. Also, I saw in the UCLA thread that with a low number of DI teams, you could just do one bracket instead of an octuple round robin on the DI side. Just a thought... Good news! Toronto has informed me that they will have 2 teams, not 1 as I had previously imagined. Thus, the field will consist of 21 teams, and the 7/7/7 prelim, 7/7/7 playoff bracket will work. Thanks everyone for your help!
