I don't have a major problem with it. I just feel kind of sorry for teams like Rock Island who are losing 810-10. I’ll add my 2c and endorse this. This is the first year in over a decade that I did zero writing, and it was due to burnout. I might do some freelancing next year.

These tournaments need more writers willing to contribute.

7 pools of 6 prelims
7 pool winners plus top 5 runners-up based on record, then PPB. Snake-seed by record/PPB into 2 pools of 6, RR within each pool, then winners play off for the title, runners-up play for 3rd/4th
For the other 30 teams, seed by record/PPB, and do 5 consolation brackets of 6.

Okay thanks! Are there any tricks with the round/games, too? I assume no overlap on that. To ensure no overlap, I would have one person stick with the traditional numbering of games (starting at 0), and the other start at a higher number, i.e. 400, so that each game still has its' own individual ID...

The 2018 Barron Robinson Memorial will take place on January 20, at St. Teresa High School in Decatur. It will not be at Springfield High.

Down here, Piasa returns most of its' starters. Glenwood loses practically everyone. Springfield's top 2 scorers from NAQT State were freshmen, and they have another good crop of potential talent coming in. I don't think they'll get there this year, but in '19 and '20, they might shock some people. ...

I'll echo Cheyne's comment re: cookie-cutter bonuses. I also have been accused of plagiarizing from my own work with a time differential of several years by a coach of a team that does not do much outside leagues and state tournaments.

As far as downstate IHSA 2A Sectionals go... At Macomb, I feel the top four are Glenwood, Macomb, Springfield High, and Rochester. Did this update get rid of the scoresheet option? We used Neg5 at our event and that was one of our teams favorite features, having the ability to just click 10, 15, -5 for each question. Last year, the Springfield Invitational used electronic scoresheets, as all of the scorekeepers were given school-owned MacBooks that were wirelessly networked to a printer in HQ.

If the resources and logistics are there, it can be a great boon. If not, it is not worth the trouble.
